How to Utilize Hashtags On Social Media

In today’s digital world, social media is a powerful tool that small businesses can use to reach their target audience. However, simply creating an account and posting content isn’t enough. To get the most out of social media, you need to optimize your posts using one of the most effective tools at your disposal: hashtags. Hashtags are a proven way to increase your reach, gain followers, and engage with your target audience. In this blog post, we will take a closer look at how to utilize hashtags on social media, platform by platform.

Twitter

Twitter is known for its use of hashtags and is an excellent platform to get your content noticed. Utilizing hashtags can make your tweets more discoverable and allow you to reach a broader audience. Twitter users typically use one to three hashtags per post. However, be sure to research relevant hashtags and avoid using spammy hashtags. Relevance is crucial when it comes to choosing the right hashtag for your tweet.

Instagram

Using hashtags on Instagram is essential since it’s a visual platform where users can search for specific images and content. Instagram allows you to use up to 30 hashtags per post. However, research shows that you should aim to use 11 hashtags per post to achieve maximum engagement. Again, relevance is key. Do your research and choose hashtags that are relevant to your brand and the content you are posting.

Facebook

While hashtags on Facebook are a relatively new addition, utilizing them in your posts can help increase your organic reach. Facebook allows you to use up to 30 hashtags per post. However, it is recommended only to use one to two relevant hashtags per post. Keep in mind that Facebook’s algorithm focuses more on user engagement, so be sure to use hashtags in posts that will spark conversation and interaction.

LinkedIn

Hashtags are less common on LinkedIn and are not used as frequently as other social media platforms. However, using the appropriate hashtags on LinkedIn can help you reach your target audience more effectively. LinkedIn recommends using up to five relevant hashtags per post. Focus on using industry-specific or location-based hashtags to reach your desired audience.

TikTok

Lastly, TikTok’s algorithm monitors hashtags closely, making it another essential platform when it comes to utilizing hashtags. You can use up to three hashtags per post on TikTok. However, to increase engagement and reach, focus on using hashtags that are relevant to your video and include trending hashtags that relate to popular topics.

Social media can be a powerful tool for small businesses to reach their target audience. Utilizing hashtags on different platforms is an excellent way to increase your reach, gain followers, and engage with your audience. Remember to research relevant hashtags for each platform and avoid using spammy hashtags. By using hashtags effectively, you can maximize your social media strategy’s potential and create a strong online presence.

How do you mimic my branding colors and style?

As mentioned above, depending on your plan, we can use whatever you’d like to provide us! If not, we’ll resort to using your website or our royalty free library.

That being said, we can come up with custom graphics that suit your branding style as an add-on to your posting subscription.

What is content review & approval?

Content review and approval is where your social media content creator sends you a weeks worth of posts, prior to their designated publication time the following week.

This way, you will have the chance to give us feedback on each post in case you’d like us to make a minor edit.

Note: One round of editing per post permitted, depending on your plan.

What are the results I can expect from your posting services?

The idea behind consistent posting onto your social media pages is to keep them active with content that promotes your business solutions, educates your audience to showcase your expertise and to also keep things lighthearted, it’s social media after all!

There’s nothing worse for a business than to earn someone looking into what you do, only for them to see a barren social media page. To them, it may appear that you are out of business or potentially a scam.

We are often asked about growing followers and generating sales or leads. These are great goals to have but please understand that those goals are better obtained through paid advertising campaigns.

Do you use a posting scheduler and how do you get access to my business pages?

We are fortunate to be partnered with CloudCampaign.com to utilize their excellent scheduling platform.

By signing up for our content services, we will set you up with your own Cloud Campaign workspace depending on your plan.

During onboarding we request admin access to your social accounts using a secure platform. This allows us to manage the occasional disconnect when the platforms push out updates.

Furthermore, with your own workspace you are welcome to view and edit content at your leisure!

Why do my posts say “Posted by Cloud Campaign”

We use Cloud Campaign, which is a 3rd party app, to scale social media management and posting. When a post says “Posted by Cloud Campaign”, it is only the admins of your company page that can see this and not your followers.
